If you want to ease your child into comfort and skill in the water, our Parent & Me class is a fun and engaging class, where you can bond with your child while practicing essential skills like floating and breath holding. Your child will not be able to swim independently at the end, but the goals are for them to enjoy being in the water, start developing those building block skills that are needed to learn to swim, and give you the tools to continue practicing with them.

In these classes, the instructor is coaching the parent and working with the child, and you can control how much you want to push your child.

We offer Parent & Me classes that meet weekly year-round, or during the Summer sessions you could choose a fast-track class that meets Mon-Thurs for two weeks. Lessons are 30 minutes each.

Infant Aquatics lessons are focused solely on survival skills. It’s only the instructor and the child. They are short lessons that are highly effective in teaching a child to rollover to float independently (for babies 6 months through 18 months old) or swim/float/swim to the side of the pool and get out independently (for those 18 months old through 6 years old). Infant Aquatics requires more of a time and financial commitment as it is a 6- to 8-week program with a certified instructor.

Infant Aquatics classes meet Mon-Thurs for the entire session. Lessons are 10 minutes each. Your child will pass a skills test with their clothes on in the water at the end of the session. For some kids, they will finish in 6 weeks, and others might take another week or two until they’re able to pass the skills test.

Both the Parent & Me class and Infant Aquatics program are excellent options. Either way, you must supervise your child constantly around the water (even when they can float independently). Also, kids need to keep practicing in order for them to not lose their skills. We offer year-round lessons and strongly recommend that you either take lessons throughout the year or practice with your child on your own regularly so they continue to progress and don’t lose what they’ve learned!
